Witness the divine journey to Kedarnath Dham — from serene valleys and mighty rivers to the majestic Himalayan temple nestled in snow.
Embark on a soul-stirring journey to Kedarnath — one of the most revered shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, nestled in the mighty Garhwal Himalayas. This 4-day spiritual and scenic adventure takes you through the sacred Mandakini valley, tranquil forests, and snow-capped landscapes, culminating at the ancient stone temple of Kedarnath.
Situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 ft), the Kedarnath Temple stands on the banks of the Mandakini River, 223 km from Rishikesh. With its origins lost in time, the temple’s construction is attributed to legends and the devotion of the Pandavas. The name "Kedarnath" means "Lord of the Field," derived from the Sanskrit words kedara (field) and natha (lord).
According to the sacred text Kedara Mahatmya, this land is where the "crop of liberation" flourishes. Many local folklores speak of Lord Shiva’s presence in the Garhwal region and the creation of the Panch Kedar shrines. Traditionally, pilgrims complete the Panch Kedar Yatra by concluding at Badrinath Temple to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu — symbolizing the union of divine forces.
